Watching the "Interviewing Tips For Video" I learned a lot about types of interviews and how to set them up. For example I learned about "Cool", Cool stands for Colorful,Outgoing, Opininative and lively. That shows what you want your subject to be and what makes a good interview. I also learned to never interview friends. Interviewing friends leads to awkwardness and being non professional and you may not get the best footage or what you need. I also learned that planning is a key part to having a good interview with structure. Using a camera, Microphone,Tripod and headphones to monitor the audio is crucial for a good interview. Lighting also plays a big role in how the video turns out, placing the lights behind the camera is the best way to position the lights rather than behind the subject causing a siloett. Also the rules of third and eyes on third also are a huge role of how the end video product comes out. If you don't have a microphone use your phone and stand anywhere from 2-3 feet away for best quality. Thats the main parts and requirements to have a great complete interview.

My Six-Word story is "Strive For Positivity, Accept Your Surroundings". This is expressing that you should accept your surroundings for what it is and be positive while doing so. This is showing a way to be positive and thrive in your learning environment. If you'r negative about your surroundings being positive could be a great way to change your look about it and your determination for working in that space.
My first shot was My first shot is a close up of my feet to show movement and carry momentum through the story. My second shot was a Dark Voyer to show environment and the space that I'm/Subject's in. My third shot is a point of view of me opening the door into the school to show the setting for the rest of my shots. My fourth shot is a wide shot of the student plaza to show the area that the shots are taking place. My fifth shot is a Extreme angle of me walking up the main staircase to show me moving to another area. My sixth shot is a wide/Medium shot of me standing in the library as people walk by to show my surroundings which blends with my Six-Word story. One lesson I learned is its good to experiment with different shots because some shots might work better in a situation than another shots will. Its also good to give yourself a good amount of time to film because if you rush your end product will be effected. One challenge I had was deciding what shot I should use in the setting to get the most detail and information while not giving to much and still having the main focus on the main subject/Me. I am very happy with my end product and the way that my video flowed and transitioned even with as little editing it has. Overall the project was a great way to learn and understand the shots, yet I would have liked it if we could have used a few more shots to express the same action. One of my favorite things about the project was the way we learned all the 19 shots, By filming them and getting a feel for them to see if we liked them. Some advice for future students doing this project is too get the filming done efficiently and well because if your footage is not how you like it or bot good than you will have a hard time trying to fix it and edit it while most likely you can't and you'll have to re-shoot. Ernest Hemingway was one of the first create a six-word story. Ernest's six-word story "For sale, Baby shoes never worn" stands out and makes you wonder what happens or caused the shoes never to be worn. This is showing some kind of tragic event that impacted someones life. I have learned that six-word stories can be about anything, Sad, happy, emotional and so on. Yet six-word stories seem to highlight the main parts and sometimes is hard to comprehend because it doesn't give you lots of context. The story was made because Ernest was at lunch and his friends bet him he count write a 6 word story, He wrote "For sale, Baby shoes never worn". Overall the meaning of the six-word story by Ernest Hemingway is about a mother that had a miscarriage and then went onto sell the baby shoes. Something that stood out when searching websites is every six-word story has a picture that goes along with it, It shows the overall meaning or object the story is about. One of the websites I found helpful that gave me great information on Ernest Hemingways six-word story "for sale, baby shoes never worn" .
During Cinematography and Editing I learned a lot more about editing a filming. During the filming stage for the 5-shot sequence I learned the phases and steps to filming a complete story and the proper way to film using different angles and strategies. The 5-Shot sequence taught me how to put together a good complete sequence of videos that flow well and show what the action is and also how to position the person and make them the focal point. Using Final Cut Pro we added all the clips into a project and clipped them by using the blade tool. We also added a generator at the beginning that we put a title over. We then clipped all the clips to be 3-5 seconds and added music. We added music that started from the beginning and fadded out at the end so it flowed to show you that it's the end of the video. We then reviewed our projects and then exported them to our desktop.
One of the many thing Is learned from the Video Coach video was that every story involves these elements. Sound bites, B roll, Voice Over, Standup, Graphics and Animation. Those elements are all factors and all have a purpose in a story. Another thing I learned is the Equipment that is used when filming. You need a camera, Tripod, microphone, headphones, batteries and extra media/ Sd card/ hard drive. There are two things that are needed on a camera to be able to be used in a story, A mic imputes and a headphone jack. When using a tripod there are two different ways of movement, Horizontal and Vertical. When you move the tripod horizontally that is called a pan. When you move a tripod vertically its called a Tilt. When filming always remember to bring at least two fully charged batteries, test gear before you go out, bring extra sd cards, stay on the same side of the axis and remember tight, medium and wide shots when filming. All of these things are very curtal to have/ use when filming or making a story.
In the TV studio there are 9 total jobs. My favorite has to be Director, I like the way we communicate from room to room working together and all that goes on in the control center leads up to the floor director. The director in the control center communicates through the headsets by hand gestures and signals for different sequences. My second favorite is the Anchor. I like being the Anchor because I like being in front of the camera. Recording is what I do daily so It fits my personality. Being the anchor is the end of the process, For example it starts with the intro that the people working in the control center play and then Avery job up to the beginning of the broadcast has a step that depends of more than one person, Such as a domino effect. The Sound Board was also cool because you where working together to start the recording and the broadcast. The microphone levels are a big part of the recording. The sound board is a curtail part of the sequance. The board looks hard to understand but once you figure it out and get the gist it seems much easier. Doing the CG was exiting because you where controlling what everyone is seeing and change it with the commands of the directors. Throughout the broadcast the directors would say "take CG" that signals for me to roll the photo that goes with what they are talking about at the time. Technical Director was one of my favorites because you where switching back and forth between the camera and the different graphics. It is a lot of power being the Technical director due to you controlling what the audience sees. Therefor its a job that you have trust in the person controlling it. This is similar to the soundboard when it comes to looking complicated. It has all kinds of different words and buttons with different colors that may look complicated. And those are my favorite jobs out of the whole process and why. Me showing Aiden how to work AJA Me using AJA
