Watching "Steve Hartman from CBS News visits with students from Ladue View." I noticed a lot about the way he interviews people.  Due to his unprofessional and homely feel the people he interviews feel comfortable sharing storys and letting out while doing so. In the 1st Story "Everyone has a story: Veteran"  Right of the bat you could tell that they had no requirements for the interview and just let loose by the way he jokes with the man and how he goes and films them doing daily life activities.  For example he says "One or two word answer kind of thing" That loosens the air and breaks down tension. Which connects to when in "Steve Hartman from CBS News visits with students from Ladue View." He stated that he likes to be himself and not have all the professionals gear and just likes to go with the flow. Another one of Steve Hartmans storys that show that people feel comfortable around him and speaking the truth is "On the road: Middle school football player makes a life-changing play". The reason this one fits shows the significance of Steve Hartmans interviews is the way the middle school football player at the end of the story starts crying and lets out his emotions. For example the kid says "I wouldn't have come up with that". This is something that most likely wouldn't have happened on a regular interview but the way he interviews brings a happy and homely presents that makes people share.
